Community Council

Coming together in community is important to RVC. Together, we raise each other up and make each other stronger.

Welcome to the Community Council

The Community Council is the joint organization that makes our community special. Each Council meeting brings parents/guardians, administrative staff, and teachers to work together on events, ongoing committee work, and issues with the school.

Meetings are the first Thursday of every month.

All Family Members are Welcome!

Council meetings are a great way to stay updated about the school and share your opinion. Don’t worry if you don’t have time to volunteer - your presence is valued!

Be the Change You Wish to See!

The CC is the best way to effect change within the school. This group can help grow ideas into action and wrangle the volunteers to make it happen. Bring your inspiration and come make great things happen for our kids!

When Do We Meet?

The Community Council alternates between meeting the first Thursday evening and the first Friday morning of the month. Friday meetings are held after our Cafecitos. See the Events Calendar for the next meeting!

But, I Can't Volunteer Right Now!

Don't worry! Your voice is important, and CC meetings are a great way to stay plugged in to what's happening at the school.

Community Council Structure

The Community Council is organized by a Facilitator or Co-Facilitators, a Secretary, and the School Director. This team:

  • Creates the agenda
  • Facilitates meetings
  • Circulates action items

Role Selection

Volunteers are solicited at the beginning of each school year. At the end of the year, members are asked if they want to stay on for the next year. This is typically the crew that helps get the school ready for the opening.

Committees and Chairs

There are many committees within the Community Council that make the school run. Each Committee has an area that they handle. Most committees have a Chair or Co-Chairs, who vote on issues if required to make a decision that can’t be reached through discussion.
