We are thrilled to welcome Sarah Foley as RVC’s Special Education teacher. Sarah has a strong background in special education, classroom instruction and student advocacy. She has nine years of teaching experience in diverse schools, including elementary schools in California, Texas and Hawaii.
“Ross Valley Charter is the perfect school for me,” said Sarah. “I care deeply about civil rights and student-centered teaching. I am excited to begin!”
Sarah holds a master’s degree in education from Dominican University, where she also earned her special education credential.
“Sarah is a great fit for Ross Valley Charter as our founding Special Education teacher,” said RVC Director Luke Duchene. “She is dedicated to meeting the needs of special education students and prioritizing approaches that keep students engaged in a general education classroom with appropriate support. She is an advocate for civil rights and whole-child education.”
Sarah has served as a Grade Level chair and presented at various conferences. In addition to her master’s degree, she also holds a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Texas and earned her teaching credential from CSU Northridge.
We thank our Selection Committee of teachers, parents, administrators and Board members who collaborated on this decision. Sarah begins in July and looks forward to connecting with families then.
Welcome to Ross Valley Charter, Sarah!
