WE SUPPORT EACHOTHER - SPECIAL EDUCATION & FREE LUNCH
Special Education
At Ross Valley Charter, we believe that no student should be left behind. Our approach to student support services in Marin County is inclusive, responsive, and personalized—ensuring every child gets the help they need to thrive both academically and socially. We prioritize early intervention and classroom-based strategies whenever possible. Our team includes a full-time credentialed special education teacher and an intervention teacher who work closely with classroom educators to meet a wide range of learning needs. As a member of the El Dorado County Charter SELPA, we are part of a network that helps ensure high-quality, legally compliant special education services across California.
Student Study Teams (SST)
Student Study Teams (SSTs) play a central role in how we support students. When a student shows signs of needing extra help, an SST is formed—bringing together teachers, support staff, parents or guardians, and, when appropriate, the student. The team reviews data, discusses challenges, and creates a plan tailored to the student’s needs. If more help is needed, we provide it—whether through targeted classroom support, a 504 Plan, or an evaluation for special education services.

504 Plans
Students are provided with a 504 plan when it is found that they have a disability that significantly impacts a major life function. The plan provides accommodations to ensure that the student is able to access their education, despite their disability.

Free Breakfast & Lunch
Breakfast and Lunch are free and available to all students through the California Universal Meals Program (in coordination with the National School Lunch Program.) Breakfast is provided during our before care program.

Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
For students who qualify for special education, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) outlines personalized goals, services, and supports. We collaborate closely with families to ensure each student’s strengths and challenges are addressed in a way that promotes meaningful growth and progress.
