Ross Valley Charter student “buddy families” enjoyed a delicious Gratitude Feast together last Friday. While the Gratitude Feast is a time-honored tradition of our program, this is the first official Gratitude Feast at Ross Valley Charter!

The Gratitude Feast is a labor of love created by RVC students. Each class makes enough of a single dish to serve the entire school. Some items are brought home to be finished by families, but the planning and preparation is done by the students. On the day of the Gratitude Feast, students sit in groups with their Buddy Families — groups of students from each grade level who get together weekly for collaborative activities. This year, the event started with a school-wide sing-along of “Consider Yourself” from Oliver.

Every year, the meal is served to all of the students by the fifth graders. Students from Ms. Chris’s and Ms. Nina’s classes served soup, bread, muffins, and butter made by each class. The fifth-graders also made a stellar clean-up crew!

RVC is grateful for so much — especially our community! We wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your loved ones.
