The October Deadline for School Space Depends on You
The amount of classrooms and school space available to RVC in 2018-19 is directly determined by how many Intent to Enroll forms are submitted THIS OCTOBER by families for students that reside within the Ross Valley School District geographic boundaries.
At the end of October, RVC will submit a Prop 39 request to the Ross Valley School District to request appropriate classroom and other school space for the upcoming school year. The intent of Proposition 39, a California law, is for public school facilities to be shared fairly among all public school students, including those in charter schools. Prop 39 is an annual process undertaken by more than half of the 1,250 charter schools in California. RVC submitted a similar request last year, resulting in RVSD allocating space for our school at its White Hill Middle School campus.
While RVC would prefer to have its own independent, long-term site (and we are actively pursuing this), we need to be sure to have space for next year. The White Hill campus has worked out nicely as our first home, and we must submit a request this fall to secure space again for next school year.
Signing an Intent to Enroll Form is not a commitment to attend RVC next fall. It is an expression that a family is “meaningfully interested” in enrolling their child at RVC next year.
