Prop 39 Request

Request for Vacant District Facilities Submitted

On Nov. 1st 2016, Ross Valley Charter submitted a request for classrooms (per Proposition 39) to the Ross Valley School District for the 2017-18 school year.

Our first choice for a long-term facility remains the vacant classrooms at the currently unoccupied Red Hill school, but we are open to a short-term solution of sharing space on existing public school campus or campuses. We do not want to displace any current District students from their current school.

Enough in-District families signed Intent to Enroll forms to enable RVC to request 9 multiage classrooms for a total capacity of 222 students, as described in our Charter Petition. Thank you to the parents of 177 in-District students who attested to their meaningful interest in attending our school next fall. We have 250 current applications for 2017-18.

We are happy to report that more than 500 people have signed the petition encouraging the District to work cooperatively with RVC to identify appropriate school classroom space. This petition, including all supporting signatures, was submitted to the District on Tuesday.
